How can I plan to Leh Ladakh?

Set in the Trans-Himalayas in North India, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh has recently become one of India’s most popular summer resorts. The main attractions of leh ladakh packages from bangalore are riding through high-rise mountain passes, visiting monasteries and camping by stupendous high-rise lakes.


Ladakh is renowned for its ancient Buddhist monasteries, besides its splendid landscapes. It has an international border with Tibet and is home to a considerable population of Tibetan Buddhists. 


While tourists have plenty to offer on a trip to Ladakh, tourists need some precautions because of its largely barren lands and low air pressures at higher altitudes, and low oxygen.


I would like to highlight in this article a number of important points that every tourist planning a trip into this region should know and answer some questions I have encountered online in travel forums.


Acclimatization, ATMs, petroleum pumps, acute mountain illness (AMS) and internal license are the most common questions, as is the length of the Ladakh route.


Srinagar Leh Highway Status 2021


It is to open on 28 February 2021, on the National Highway 1D (NH 1D) that connects Srinagar to Leh. It has been shown that the road is cleared for one way, but the road is open for civil traffic from 28 February in view of weather advice.


The cut-off time is 1 000 hours for vehicles on the Sonmarg side and 1100 hours for vehicles on the Minamarg side.

Leh Ladakh Take Time to Acclimatize


Acclimation is an important part of the construction of your Ladakh route, so make sure that you do not hurry on – your body has time to adapt to low air pressure. You must reserve to be used to high altitude the first two days after your arrival in Leh.


If you take the Leh-Manali Highway, stop on Keylong, Jispa and Darcha and, where possible, avoid staying in Sarchu.


You still have to take two days to rest if you fly directly to Leh. During this time, you’ve always been able to visit the monasteries and palaces in Thiksey, Hemis, Shey, Nimoo, and Stok, etc.


Altitude Sickness Prevention Tips


The most important thing to consider during your journey to the Ladakh region is physical fitness. You might want to reconsider visiting Ladakh if you suffer from high blood pressure, heart diseases or asthma.


But you don’t expect to get to Leh and then leave immediately for Nubra or Pangong. You may get seriously affected by AMS, which may lead to serious headaches, nausea, restlessness, failure to think or walk and even ataxia. The AMS even affects the fittest people.


Don’t rush up. Don’t rush up. Due to the low pressure atmosphere tourists have to remain at Leh for about 2 or 48 days.


Gradually increase your height. Take it slow once you start your ascent. The balance between ascent and rest can acclimatize your body.


Stay moisturized. Stay moisturized. Hydration is necessary, but overdoing can harm your sodium by reducing it. You only need a liter to increase your regular water intake. AMS does not always result in dehydration.


Stay warm. Just stay warm. Cover your head and ears warm during the cold weather.


Don’t physically exercise yourself. Don’t run on the passes, especially. A low concentration of oxygen can lead to tiredness, and breathing can be difficult. You could feel the earth spinning or even disappearing.


Try Diamox….. or soup of garlic! Some preventive medicines help to acclimate and treat height disease. Diamox is the best known. A tested, natural alternative, the local version of this medicine is the garlic soup that sounds like it—tons of garlic soup.


If you begin to experience AMS symptoms, descend immediately. If you notice any signs, such as headache, nausea, dizziness, or tiredness, rest immediately and go down at high altitude without delay (as in Khardung La Top).


Don’t drink or smoke alcohol. But you must avoid smoking and drinking alcohol on a high altitude in order to prevent AMS, I know that this is hard to do.


During the day, avoid sleeping. I know I haven’t had to say it because who would waste a few seconds sleeping in a magnificent country during the day!
