Many businesses realized that a smaller office better suits their need, and their budget. As the work we do is somehow linked to the internet, the internet is no more luxury instead it is a necessity, but finding an internet connection, which is reliable is still a tough job because there are many companies, which are offering internet services, but not everyone offers reliable services. Companies like Optimum makes sure that the customer gets what the company promises but it’s rare to find such a company. A reliable internet connection is hard to find but we need it as everything we do is linked to the internet. Our workplaces won’t be able to run if we don’t have a reliable internet connection. For a modern workplace, we need multiple things and a reliable internet connection is the foundation of all these things.

Basic workplace

What comes to your mind when you hear the word office? A chair, office table, deadlines, and a lot of work are the things you see in the office. In a nutshell, the office is a synonym for work, where we spend a large proportion of our day; sitting and working. That scenario makes the chair the most pivotal asset of any office where employees have to sit and work – work for five days in a week. This is not as simple as it sounds, on average employees all over the world spend 35 to 40 hours sitting at their desks each week. Internet is facilitating our work tasks but sitting for long periods is linked with people’s poor physical and mental health. Working in a sedentary office job often causes lower back pain from physical inactivity, faulty posture, or a poorly designed workstation.  When it comes to making a comfortable work environment we must choose each and every piece of equipment wisely that is well designed, safe, and comfortable. Wrong choice and you will suffer a lot of health issues and large medical bills.

Modern workplace

Now the modern workplace is different from what it used to be before. The workplace is a setting now, that inspires the employees to call the office their home. Every office has its own identity, own language, and ideology, which adds personality, character, and mood. Offices now are a living, breathable entity filled with positivity. Now employers provide home-like perks i.e. comfy sofas, armchairs, pod seats, coffee tables, bean bags. Lounge areas and break areas with recreational games. Even exercise gyms are provided to support a healthy lifestyle. Office spaces are all about connectivity and flexibility, where people can meet and communicate. Employees don’t want to work in bland cubicles. Working in groups together fosters better communication and collaboration. Offices design, office furniture, have been changed to support groups working together. Now office table comes with USB ports to keep your technology alive and has become more minimalistic, the objective is to utilize the space, facilitate workflow, and minimize risk. With the advent of digitalization, we have landed in a world, where there are miracles at work, the thirst, and the hunger of becoming the best version of you. It empowers and inspires people to reach their maximum potential to communicate, collaborate and solve problems, like one big team helping each other to sustain and progress.

Future of workplace

The future of the workplace is not a place at all. It’s the ability to work by using the tools of choice. The world has reached a point where different businesses are working under one roof, such co-working offices are a reality, taking many forms. The modern office serves multiple purposes, based on the type of Work the Company does. Now starting a business or a company is not a big thing, a plethora of small businesses all over the world are working in these collaborative workspaces. Employees have a lot of choices now

Two decades before, small businesses like digital marketing agencies were not so dependent on content writers, copywriters, and SEO writers, but now the consumer is more interested in branding, brand language, and marketing campaigns. To attract a wider audience now it’s not only sales department now. Consumers now need a good reason to buy a product and follow the brand. A product is more than a product now. From website to digital video content everything is required to stand out and compete in digital marketing. Now people are around the world are working remotely on different online marketplaces as freelance workers.

Performance in traditional office space was directly proportional to the time that people spent in the office, but now the internet and technology have made it more convenient and innovative while giving associates continual connectivity more than ever. It’s the internet and the technology which is keeping businesses, schools, classes, and people connected and functioning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Things are not that worse as it was at the start, companies all over the world were forced to send their employees home. It was hard, surreal, and tough because we grew up believing that we humans are social animals but all of a sudden we are forced to maintain social distancing. The world has never faced that kind of situation before. In the wake of this situation, a massive number of employees adapted the lifestyle of remote working. Employees have laptops to work from home with a VPN to connect their on-premise servers with their devices. “Modern Workplace” describes a business model that recognizes digital technology and tools as the way of collaborative working.  Internet, virtual workspaces, smartphones all allow us to work around the clock without the confinements of a particular space.

Summing it up

Every business should have a modern workplace as it offers their employees flexibility and they feel more comfortable in working at a modern workplace which can be a home, a café, or even an intuitive office space rather than working at a boring workplace.
