All About Normal Skin Sensitivity
WHAT IS NORMAL SKIN?
Normal skin is anything but ‘normal’. In a way, it brings together a little bit of everything, it can occasionally be subject to drought, display a little shine or sometimes sensitivity, a bit like you at a buffet picking a bit of everything here and there. But overall, normal skin is relatively well balanced. You don’t have much to do. If you want to stay “normal”. But forget the ordinary, normal skin can be extraordinary if taken care of properly. Who wouldn’t love to have visibly glowing healthy skin? This is the height of self-confidence. Check out our smart tips and our best normal skincare routine to help you get there.
Do you have normal skin? But how lucky you are! Know that you are one of the lucky ones to live the absolute dream of all people who have another type of skin.
But beware, just because nature has spoiled you does not mean that you do not have to take care of your skin: neglected, normal skin can indeed very quickly turn into dry skin and oily skin if it is neglected. This is cleaned with the wrong care.
How do you recognize normal skin?
Soft, smooth, neither greasy nor dry, normal skin is, it could be said, simply perfect! It is recognized by its regular skin texture without dilated pores and the absence of imperfections on its surface. To the touch, it gives full meaning to the expression peach skin! But its particularity also lies in the fact that it supports rather well the various aggressions with which it must face: where other types of skin start to pull (cold, wind, prolonged exposure to the sun …) or to shine ( heat, humidity, perspiration…) normal skin remains equal to itself: flawless! If you have normal skin, you can warmly thank your sebaceous glands, which produce just the right amount of sebum to protect you from both dryness and bacteria.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE NORMAL SKIN?
You mainly observe that the surface of your skin has a healthy appearance. Your pores are hard to see and you don’t spend your time fighting blemishes. The concept of skin sensitivity has never crossed your mind, nor your cheeks. In fact, to define what normal skin looks like one could more easily look for what it is not.
Generally top dermatologist in Islamabad says, your skin is neither too oily nor too dry. As Goldilocks would say, she’s just right. Normal skin can still be occasionally affected by some skin concerns, such as a little dryness, a slightly sensitive area or an occasional shine, but when these aspects occur they tend to pass quickly, instead of being recurring like for their respective skin type. Normal skin’s natural sebum production (created by the sebaceous glands located under each pore) is as well balanced as a tightrope walker. This means that your sebaceous glands are inherently efficient enough to keep things tidy.
In reality, you may only notice changes in this balance when the outside elements are changing rapidly. Extremes can affect the skin and cause it to react, as both very high temperatures and freezing conditions can dry out your skin. This can cause not only dryness on your face but also a shiny appearance. This excess sebum comes from our fabulous sebaceous glands which think that our face needs more sebum because of the signals of dryness sent by the skin due to the lack of hydration.
The enemies of normal skin
So yes, normal skins resist aggression better than others, but this does not mean that they are completely immune to enemy attack, and this is also less and less the case. as the years go by. With age, the skin regenerates less quickly and loses hydration. It defends itself less well against the cold, the drought, the ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun or the repetitive friction due to the clothes, which attack its protective hydrolipidic film. Result: the skin dries up and ages prematurely because it is precisely the lack of hydration that causes the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
How to take care of normal skin?
To take care of normal skin, there is no miracle: eating healthy, getting enough sleep, knowing how to manage stress are all ways of preserving the beauty and suppleness of your skin, from the inside out. But beyond this recommended lifestyle for all skin types, your skin also needs to be pampered. Nothing too restrictive, don’t worry: a weekly exfoliation to help get rid of its dead cells (by exfoliating your skin more than once a week you risk drying it out), a veil of moisturizing milk after the shower ( replace with a moisturizer, more nourishing, in winter or a vegetable oil if you prefer) and voila!
Which wash to use for normal skin?
The advantage (and one more!) Of normal skin is that you can choose all types of cleansers! Shower oil, surgras soap, soap without soap, the possibilities are endless and we will help you choose your favorite!
Soap without soap
Soap without soap is a synthetic detergent (based on petroleum derivatives aka the famous surfactants) with a pH close to that of the skin (around 5), it is therefore especially recommended for fragile, dry or even skin. Atopic which obviously does not prevent you from using it.
Surgras soap
like soap without soap, surgras soap is particularly suitable for dry or fragile skin, but it is just as perfect for normal skin. Be careful though to only use it on your body and not your face which could easily switch to the oily skin side of strength, and we know very well that is not what you want!
Traditional soap Traditional
soap is a natural detergent which tends to dry out already fragile and dry skin due to its basic pH of around 10. With your normal skin you can use traditional soap without risking your skin to dry out provided however, moisturize it carefully when you get out of the shower.
Shower oil
Shower oil is quite a sensory experience on its own. Its original soft and enveloping texture moisturizes all skin types and turns into a foam when applied in the shower. It gives a serious boost to the natural hydrolipidic film of the skin which makes it ideal for all skin types, dry and normal skin in mind!
Now that you know everything about your normal skin, you will have no reason not to pamper it as it deserves, say Petit Marseillais!
